The one product that I cannot live without is a cleansing oil. It is such an under-rated strategy for achieving clear skin. It’s the best way to clean your skin thoroughly.
A cleansing oil removes EVERYTHING – oil, dirt, makeup, sunscreen, pollution, bacteria. And it does so very easily while nourishing your skin.
It is especially helpful if you have ACNE, OILY SKIN, or CLOGGED PORES. It sounds counter-intuitive to add oil to oily skin, but the oil actual grabs onto the oil on the surface of your face and inside pores. Water turns it milky and rinses it off easily.
A cleansing oil will make a huge difference on your skin. It’s the first step toward cleaner pores. And any skin type can use it.
Cleansing Oils come in different forms, which you can see here. Most are liquid oils, which have different viscosities – from light to heavy. Some are solid balms or pastes that turn into oil. A few are gels or jellies that turn into oil. And then there’s a type called micellar waters – they feel like a water but perform like an oil.
My #1 favorite is Dermalogica Precleanse. It is the only skincare product that I can recommend to anyone with 100% confidence. I love it that much, and it’s the one that I use the most.
You can read why and my comments on the others in this article on Double Cleansing. It will explain how a cleansing oil works and how to do the Double Cleanse.
It was also the Most Popular article on my blog last year (and still is!). At the end of it, I list other good cleansing oils too.
In the picture:
- Dermalogica Precleanse
- Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
- Bourjois Micellar Cleansing Water
- NUDE Skincare Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly
- Eve Lom Morning Time Cleanser
- Darphin Aromatic Cleansing Balm
I will def be getting the dermalogica pre cleanse based on your recommendations! I enjoy their microfoliant and like that their products are gentle.
Have you tried the perricone md products? I am curious as to what you think of them.
Glad to hear that and hope that you enjoy Precleanse 🙂 I have tried some of Perricone’s products (far from everything), but I think the products in general are very good!
