I was super excited to try these products after learning about their advanced ingredients – EGF and DNA repair enzymes – which you don’t come across too often in skincare.

EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor. It is the most important growth factor in skin. It stimulates the growth of new skin cells and speeds up the healing process.

The impact on skin? With more EGF, skin looks more revitalized, and there are fewer signs of aging.

• The EGF used in this line is derived from barley, not from E. coli bacteria (which are used in competitive lines). Bacterial EGF degrades over a period of weeks, whereas plant-based EGF does not lose potency with exposure to UV.
• This EGF is a stable and potent form of EGF.

DNA Repair Enzymes help repair DNA and protein damage. Your skin gets beat up by the environment (especially UV) and just the daily act of living. Your body can repair most of the damage when it’s young. But over time, your repair ‘machinery’ becomes less efficient. It just doesn’t work as well, and so things go un-repaired. The damage accumulates.

Repair enzymes give you a boost in repair. So more of your damaged skin cells are getting fixed. Your skin doesn’t age as fast.

• These repair enzymes are derived from marine and botanical sources.

I am especially interested in DNA repair because, while my skin is in very good condition for my age (very few wrinkles), I see an increasing amount of discoloration on my skin. It also looks more dull, even though I take very good care of it. This is a sign that my body’s repair machinery is slowing down. I need a helping hand with DNA repair.

DNA Renewal SERUM has the barley-derived EGFs, which reduce the signs of aging and improve the texture of skin (and pores). It is a lightweight clear gel that absorbs seamlessly into skin.

I’ve been using this duo at night. My skin looks smoother and brighter. What I find unique is how hydrating these products are, given their light consistency. They are so light, you wouldn’t expect them to be this hydrating. I feel more hydrated with this duo than with a heavy cream.

Best of all, my skin doesn’t feel loaded down with product. The light texture is ideal for this time of year (it’s getting more humid here where I live).
