This is how I’m keeping my balms as clean as possible.
1. I scrape out the balm using a small spatula. It’s easier to get it out of the pan than using my finger. Also much more hygienic!
2. Then I wipe the balm off from the spatula with a finger, and apply the balm to my lips or wherever it needs to go.
3. And finally, I wipe the spatula with tissue to keep it clean. Just break off a small corner of a tissue, paper towel, or toilet paper.
Lip balm hygiene is important – your fingers harbor millions of bacteria! Using a spatula minimizes contamination, and wiping off that spatula after each use keeps the bugs away too.
Although these might seem like fussy extra steps, once it become a habit, you won’t think it’s a hassle. Just a skincare habit you won’t think twice about 🙂
