The mother of all peptide serums – DermAware True Beauty Serum Age Control Max. This has been sitting in my “To Try” pile for several months, and I have been dying to finish testing other treatments in order to use this.
There are *9* peptides in here! That’s a lot. AND – they’re in the first 11 ingredients of this serum (even bigger deal). The other 2 are glycerin and aloe vera gel. That means this is a highly concentrated peptide treatment. It’s a mix of collagen-boosting peptides, neuropeptides, and even an inflammation/redness reducing peptide.
The 9 Peptides in the DermAware serum:
- Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline)
- Acetyl Tetrapeptide-40 (Telangyn)
- Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 (Matrixyl synthe’6)
- Acetyl Octapeptide-3 (SNAP-8)
- Hexapeptide-10
- Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
- Palmitoyl Oligopeptide
- Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3
- Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 (SYN-COLL)
Most retail serums or creams that “boast” peptides have a miniscule amount. The peptides typically appear toward the end of an ingredient list.
This is a major reason I like to use professional skincare when it comes to anti-aging. You get a lot more performance ingredients in your products for much better value. Especially expensive ingredients like peptides.
This particular serum isn’t cheap ($150 for 1 oz, which is above average in pricing for professional skincare). But it also offers a lot.
Compare this with Perricone‘s Acetyl-Glutathione Deep Crease Serum. It’s priced at $155 for 1 oz. There are only two peptides – and they’re DEAD LAST on the ingredient list. In other words, there’s barely any in there.
Ingredients in the Perricone serum:
Water, Glycerin, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, S-Palmitoylglutathione, Isopropyl Palmitate, Squalane, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycolic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethicone, Dimethyl MEA, Cyclohexasiloxane, Ceteareth-20, Fragrance/Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Zinc Gluconate, Magnesium Aspartate, Caprylyl Glycol ,Phosphatidylcholine, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Docosahexaenoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Linalool, Copper Gluconate, Tetrapeptide-21, Citronellol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Geraniol, Limonene, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Pentapeptide-18, Citral.
If you’re going to spend $150 on a peptide serum, which one are you going to pick?
This is a no brainer to me. Don’t waste your time or money on over-priced treatments. If you’re focused on anti-aging, and you’re not already doing so, have a look at professional skincare.
With the Internet, it’s easier than ever to find professional skincare products! And within professional skincare, there is a ton of options too, to suit all tastes and budgets.
PS – Some of you ask me where to buy professional products that I show in my pics. Go to the brand’s website and look for a “FIND A PROVIDER” link, which will tell you where you can buy the products in your area.
