A typical summer skincare routine. Hot and humid days call for minimal layers. I skip daytime moisturizer and use only light serums. Then sunscreen of course!
FACE (top row):
Sesha Complex C #Serum – Vitamin C/antioxidant serum in a fairly fluid gel which makes it easy to spread and create a thin layer
HydrafacialMD Beta HD Serum – Salicylic acid treatment for my nose area
HydrafacialMD UV Smart Daily Sunscreen – oil-free zinc sunscreen for all over face except eyes (see below)
EYES (bottom row):
Dermalogica Ultracalming Serum Concentrate – a face serum that I am using on my eyes, which are still a little bit itchy from seasonal spring allergies. This serum immediately soothes the skin around my eyes and is hydrating enough to be a “base” underneath my eye cream.
Ole Henriksen Fresh Start Eye Creme – I use this simple eye cream for days like this, when my eyes are itchy. It’s a basic moisturizer for the eyes and doesn’t have any aggressive ingredients. I avoid using my more assertive anti-aging eye treatments, which can irritate eyes that are “under the weather.”
Dermalogica Super Sensitive Shield SPF 30 (zinc/titanium dioxide sunscreen) – this is a sunscreen meant for the face, but I like to use it on the eyes when they’re sensitive. The fluid texture makes it very easy to spread, which means less tugging and pulling on the delicate skin. The Zinc is anti-inflammatory too. ps – you need an eye cream underneath this sunscreen, because zinc oxide can be drying.
LIPS:
SolarProtection Liptect SPF 45 – I always wear lip sunscreen under lip gloss or lipstick. I wish I had started doing this very early on (like, back in high school :), as I can see the lines on my lips have deepened over time.
