When you like something a lot, you SUPERSIZE it! 🙂

Behold the largest bottle of face moisturizer I have ever seen. 8 ounces (237 ml) of anti-aging goodness here.

This is the professional size of iS Clinical REPARATIVE MOISTURE EMULSION. What’s known as the “back bar” size.

Back bar means it’s only used in the spa room on clients. You can’t buy this size, but you can buy the 1.7 oz retail size.

An Advanced Formula

This is the newest moisturizer in the line, and here’s why it’s special.

3 powerful ingredients set it apart from the many, many moisturizers out there, all claiming to reverse the signs of aging:

1. EXTREMOZYMES

These are DNA repair enzymes. The name refers to *enzymes* from *extremophiles.*

Extremo-what??!

EXTREMOPHILES are plants or organisms that live in the most hostile living conditions on Earth. Think extremely hot, extremely cold, extremely dry, extremely acidic, extremely salty.. you get the idea!

Any organism who can live in these extreme conditions must have unusual survival mechanisms. Their enzymes, among other things, are harvested for use in advanced anti-aging skincare. The idea is that if it can help the organism survive for a long time, it can help regenerate skin and extend its youthfulness.

One example is  Sea Whip (Gorgonian coral), which I wrote about a while ago. Sea whip is a marine plant that lives in extremely salty water. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects, much stronger than hydrocortisone.

2. COPPER TRIPEPTIDE GROWTH FACTOR

The combination of Copper attached to a Peptide sequence and Growth Factor increases collagen production and other dermal components of skin by stimulating fibroblast activity. Clinically proven to have this effect on skin (and this brand is rigorous about its clinical studies, not to mention the science behind its skincare).

3. SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE

This is an enzyme found naturally in the body but happens to be a powerful antioxidant. (It fights the nasty Superoxide radical.) You can find SOD in skincare, but this particular form isn’t deactivated easily.

As for how it feels – I love it. It’s a medium-weight moisturizer in an emulsion – so more liquid than cream. It’s very moisturizing for an emulsion, but it doesn’t clog. My skin has a “satisfied” feeling with this moisturizer.

This is good for all skin types, even oily skin.

I’m actually giving this bottle to my mother who has a birthday coming up. It would take me 5 years to finish this at the rate I have products on rotation 🙂

She’ll like this extra large bottle. I’ve noticed she doesn’t use the samples I give her anymore. Or skincare that comes in small bottles or tubes. They’re too small for her to read the label. (This is how I know she’s getting old, even if she is aging gracefully 🙁 )

It’s easier for her to hold, squeeze, or pump a big size like this. I never thought about packaging size until my mother’s habits started to change. It makes me realize that mature customers are sometimes forgotten. With people living longer, maybe skincare companies should re-think how they design packaging for older customers.
