Some of you have asked me to share my favorite Vitamin C serum. Well, here you go – two of my favorites are by Lira Clinical.
As you may remember, I am a huge fan of PRO C4 Retinol Serum (gray bottle) – a Vitamin C serum with Retinol. It makes a real impact on my skin – smoother, more even toned, brighter, and plumper. When I put this on at night, I always see a visible difference in the morning.
All of the benefits and wonderful qualities of C4 Retinol is available without the Retinol in BIO Hydra C Serum (white bottle). It’s essentially the same formula, just without the Retinol. Hydra C is good for the daytime or on nights when you don’t want retinol. It’s Lira’s bestselling product.
Both of these serums contain an excellent form of Vitamin C – Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THDA), the most stable and most bioavailable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C. It also has 3 other sources of Vitamin C and antioxidant rich plant stem cell extracts (Swiss apple, sea fennel, alpine, edelweiss).
There are other great Vitamin C serums that I use regularly too (and I will show them to you in an upcoming post). But what I love about these two is their texture.
It’s a light emulsion (opaque fluid) that is easy to spread and absorbs well. This particular texture is ideal for my skin type (normal, dehydrated). It forms a nice base if I want to layer another serum or moisturizer on top. If you are on the oilier side, this emulsion might even provide sufficient hydration for you (i.e. no need for moisturizer).
On a side note, since we’re on the topic of texture – I just have to point out, Lira has really mastered the art of texture. Everything I have tried by Lira is cosmetically elegant. The serums and emulsions are so light and smooth. They apply beautifully and feel great.
I also love the scent (it’s basically the same in both). It’s a mild scent too, which is a big plus to me, as I can’t stand a strong smell.
And you’ll be glad to know, the price is right too. Hydra C is $56 for 2 oz. C4 Retinol is $59 for 2 oz.
Compared to many professional and retail brands, they’re a terrific value. For this reason, I recommend either one to you if you are on a budget but still want a high-performing, professional quality C serum.
The third product in the photo is the PRO Lite Serum, a hydroquinone-free serum for lightening spots and overall brightening. It’s packed with effective pigment-busting ingredients.
I have just started using this on my cheeks which has some brown spots. It’s a syrupy liquid that is soft and moisturizing but doesn’t feel sticky. Like the C serums, I can layer other products on top of it without any problem. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works on my stubborn spots.
I will be doing a post on Vitamin C serums soon, so stay tuned!

Hola Rita: I noticed that the company Has a product call Lira Bio Hydra Infusion which appears to have the ingredients of the Bio Hydra C Serum and some others components. Have you tried this Infusion?
Hello Elaine, yes, these two products have different functions though. Hydra Infusion is for intense hydration. It has hyaluronic acid, a few stem cell extracts, peptide complex, silver ear mushroom, and colloidal gold & silver. Hydra C Serum is a Vitamin C serum – it has 4 different types of Vit C and a few stem cell extracts.
Can they be use together or one week one and next week the other?
Yes, they can be used together daily or whenever your skin feels the need for both (for example, when skin is feeling dehydrated or during dry weather months). I would view Hydra C as a Vitamin C serum providing daily antioxidant protection (an essential step), and Hydra Infusion as a Hyaluronic Acid serum providing extra moisture (an optional step when skin needs it).
Are you a vendor for this product? The only place I can find it is in Amazon 🙁
Yes, I am an authorized provider of Lira Clinical products. Please contact me here to purchase.
