I am currently using two products that my dehydrated skin is appreciating – the Meg 21 Eye Treatment and Meg 21 Moisturizing Toner.
If you are craving moisture like my skin does but have a hard time finding products that keep your skin moist, you might find these products helpful.
Meg 21 Eye Treatment
I love discovering good eye creams, and it isn’t often that I come across one that I love. Here’s one that just made my list.
Meg 21’s Eye Treatment fulfills two important criteria. First, it moisturizes the eye area for a long time. Most eye creams don’t keep my skin moisturized for more than a few hours. This one does. I apply it over an eye serum or face serum, which I always do with every eye cream or treatment in order to keep my skin hydrated longer.
I have to admit, the first time I used it (at night), it was a surprise to find my skin still moist in the morning. My expectations with eye creams are usually low – I assume that the skin around my eyes won’t be moist in the morning. 80% of the time, I wake up with dry, crepey skin there. So it was a thrill to discover otherwise.
The second important criteria is texture. For me, the texture of an eye cream is more important than the texture of a face cream. Simply because the skin around the eyes is more delicate, and it is harder for that part of the face to absorb product. There’s nothing worse than applying an eye cream that just sits there and doesn’t sink in. I also don’t like eye creams that are hard to spread or create friction while being moved around with a finger. Thick, low-viscosity creams require you to use more force – both in moving it laterally across skin and in rubbing it into skin when it doesn’t absorb on its own. Both are bad for the eye skin, which is easily disturbed and wrinkled by any kind of movement.
So back to this eye cream – it’s a low viscosity emulsion. More lotion than cream. But not a loose fluid. It spreads effortlessly. In fact, applying gentle pressure to it immediately spreads it out. In the photo to the right, this is what the cream looks like after I have lightly pressed it.
The best part is that it sinks in SO easily. You don’t need to think twice about whether it has absorbed. You can apply it, forget about it, and move onto something else.
A third important criteria is anti-aging efficacy, of course. But I can’t comment on it at this point, as it is too early to measure long-term change, and my eye area has few wrinkles. However, its ability to keep my eye area moisturized for a long time goes a long way toward both minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and preventing wrinkling that occurs from moisture loss.
I also want to point out the distinctive properties of this eye cream. It contains Supplamine, a novel ingredient complex that prevents and correct glycation, one of the major causes of aging skin (excess sugar damaging collagen and elastin). Supplamine was discovered by the brand’s founder, Dr. Annette Tobia, a cancer scientist, while studying kidney cancer at the Fox Chase Cancer Research Center in Philadelphia. You can read more about Supplamine and how it treats glycation here: a post about their face cream that I wrote last year.
By the way, this eye cream also won the 2016 Dermascope Aestheticians Choice Award. In other words, skin professionals within the spa industry voted on this product and gave it the thumbs up.
This cream is suitable for sensitive eyes and has been evaluated for irritation potential in an ophthalmogic study. None of the study participants experienced irritation.

Meg 21 Moisturizing Toner
There are many toners on the market – designed for every skin type and skin concern. However, what I find lacking are toners that are highly moisturizing.
Most hydrating toners are decent at providing me with some immediate moisture. But this gives you that extra oomph – if you want to feel as moisturized as you’d feel with a hydrating serum but without the weight of a serum (i.e. you’d like the lightness and fluidity of a toner). It also feels soft as you’re rubbing it over the skin. It’s a comforting feeling if your skin is dry or rough.
Like every product in the line, the toner contains Supplamine as well as:
- some fruit acids for gentle exfoliation (sugar cane, sugar maple – botanical sources of glycolic acid)
- antioxidants (cranberry, blueberry)
- soothing ingredients (witch hazel, green tea, arnica, calendula, mushroom extract)
- hydrating and water-binding agents (hyaluronic acid, algae, amino acids, and more)
It’s suitable for all skin types, but normal to mature skin will appreciate it the most.
Price: $36, 6 oz
