SERUM TIP – You can and should treat your skin in a targeted way. The skin on your face isn’t the same everywhere. Some parts may be more oily or dry than others. Signs of aging show up in different places. Texture varies too. So you should give each problem area what it needs.
I like to use multiple serums in specific sections of my face as you can see here:
1. Vitamin C Reversal Serum – all over face
This is a hydrating Vitamin C serum for antioxidant protection, collagen boosting, and radiance. I like to use it in the day, because it can be easily layered with serums containing other age-fighting ingredients. The hyaluronic acid increases the moisture content in my skin. Throughout the day, the skin will get dehydrated. So it’s good to amp up the moisture early on.
- 8% Vitamin C (MAP – Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate)
- Low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid
- Panthenol (pro Vitamin B5)
2. Bright White Serum – on cheeks where there are spots
This brightening serum contains not just one, but several, powerful skin brightening ingredient complexes.
- 10% Vitamin C (BV-OSC, which is THDA – Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate)
- Symwhite (Resorcinol) – skin brightener (tyrosinase inhibitor) and antioxidant
- Regufade (Resveratrol) – powerful skin brightener
- Tyrostat-11 – tyrosinase inhibitor
- Marrubium stem cell extract – rich in phenylpropanoids, which protects the skin from oxidants and activates its defense systems
- Vitamin E
3. Myo Cyte Serum – on forehead expression lines & eleven’s area (glabellar lines)
This is a peptide serum that relaxes expression lines (only temporary though, so must be used consistently). It also has peptides that build collagen and elastin.
- SNAP-8 – neuropeptide that relaxes lines (inhibits muscle contraction)
- Matrixyl – stimulates collagen and elastin production
- Matrixyl 3000 – stimulates wound healing process (collagen production)
- Inyline – reduces the depth of wrinkles
- Passion Flower extract – contains 3 powerful muscle relaxants
- Carnosine – di-peptide with anti-glycation properties
- Proline and Glycine – amino acids required to make collagen
4. Cyto Comm Serum – all over face for collagen boosting and cellular detox
When I want to use this as a spot treatment (i.e. if I don’t want to use all over the face), I concentrate on the forehead, nasolabial folds (to prevent deepening), and lower cheeks (to prevent sagging).
- Progeline – peptide that acts on a senescence marker, inhibits MMP enzyme activity
- Osmanthus Fragans flower extract – detoxifies glycating agents and oxidants, protects biomolecules from glycation and inflammation
- Crocus Crysanthus bulb extract – promotes epidermal communication, which boosts collagen and elastin production
- Vita C – stabilized form of Vitamin C
- blend of amino acids that promote collagen formation
