Vitamin E is one of the big 3 antioxidants in skin care. The other two are Vitamin C and Vitamin A. They are all essential for skin.

Vitamin E protects the lipid barrier in your skin from free radicals. A lipid is basically a fancy word for a fatty substance. The lipids keep your skin soft and strong. Plant oils are rich in omega lipids, which is why they feel so comforting and moisturizing.

Vitamin E is in practically every skin care product. The important thing to know about Vitamin E is that it oxidizes quickly. Especially when exposed to sunlight and air. So remember to keep your antioxidant products away from the light.

There are many sources of Vitamin E. Some great ones are: Almonds, Walnuts, Sunflower Seeds, Avocado, Spinach, and Wheat Germ.
