Looks yummy, doesn’t it? I would love it if someone made me this sandwich right now 🙂
This sandwich is chock full of healthy ingredients. The two that stand out for making skin healthy:
TOMATO – rich in antioxidants
- Vitamin C
- Lycopene
- Vitamin A
AVOCADO – great for skin’s lipid barrier
- Vitamin E
- Omega 3 Fatty Acids
HEALTHY SKIN FOOD TIP
Try to consume foods that are rich in Vitamin C with foods that are rich in Vitamin E.
Why? Because Vitamin E is a short-lived antioxidant that can neutralize only ONE free radical at a time. Once it’s done nabbing a free radical, it becomes inactive.
But Vitamin C re-activates Vitamin E and turns Vitamin E back into its active form. So Vitamin E can go back to work fighting more free radicals! I like to think of these two antioxidants as best friends.
Vitamin C also protects Vitamin A against oxidation. So the three of these powerhouse antioxidants are great together in food or skincare products.
